<p>Der GC9 kam am 9. März 2015 in China auf den Markt,<sup id="cite_ref-3" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-3"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>3<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> ab 2016 wurde das Fahrzeug als <b>Geely Emgrand GT</b> auch in den <a href="Vereinigte_Arabische_Emirate" title="Vereinigte Arabische Emirate">Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten</a> verkauft.

</p><p>2016 wurde die Limousine in China als „Car of the year“ ausgezeichnet.<sup id="cite_ref-4" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-4"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>4<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Außerdem gilt der GC9 in China als erstes inländisches Fahrzeug, das erfolgreich im Segment der oberen Mittelklasse ist.<sup id="cite_ref-5" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-5"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>5<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>

</p><p>Im April 2018 präsentierte Geely auf der <a href="Auto_China" title="Auto China">Beijing Auto Show</a> mit dem <a href="Geely_GE" title="Geely GE">GE</a> ein <a href="Hybridelektrokraftfahrzeug" title="Hybridelektrokraftfahrzeug">Hybridfahrzeug</a> auf Basis des GC9. Dieses wird in China seit Ende Mai 2018 verkauft.<sup id="cite_ref-6" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-6"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>6<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>
